Movin' On & Gettin' Over

I'm here in Helena! I'm all unpacked and moved in, and most importantly, I have met some awesome people and love my job!! And since I have had a blog for quite a while now, I figure it's time to add some really blogger-esque things onto this lil' shindig. A picture of an acai bowl up top there that I made at work, and some pictures of my room with all the decor in place down below. (Ayyy, Target and Society6.)

Alright. Glad I got those things out of the way. It's been pretty weird moving out to a new city with no easy way to meet new people, i.e. college classes or sports or something. Work, of course, is helpful, but as of right now, I'm still the new girl trying to not screw anything up there. And my roommates are awesome, but our schedules rarely overlap in free time. SO, I've been mostly hanging out with Tanner and his freshman football buddies. Don't get me wrong, it's seriously so fun. And I can tell they are all pretty comfortable around me... But after a week of solely hanging out with a bunch of huge dudes in a dorm room, I was feeling pretty deprived in the femininity department. So when Tanner brought me to a Christian young adults thing that they do on campus last night, you can imagine my excitement meeting some awesome girls that have a lot in common with me. Yay, friends.

And as for college classes online, turns out the online place I was looking at is pretty sucky. Expensive and not ideal in transferrable credits. So, I'm looking into other colleges in the area but probably just going to get settled in minus college for the next few months. College can wait for January and spring classes. Getting a degree and going into thousands of dollars in debt will always be there waiting for me. I'll just be saving lots of money and making some cool new relationships for now. Good stuff.

This last Saturday I got to go to Tanner's first home football game. And sure enough, two games in, Tanner was thrown into the game and his red shirt is officially burned. (They don't actually light it up in flames. I guess that's just what they call it when he goes from a red shirt freshman to a freshman.) That means he'll be here for 4 years instead of 5 now. It was a bummer that his team lost the game, but pretty cool to see Tanner out there playing college ball. [Girly side note: His colors are purple and gold and those colors are so my colors. I can deal.] I'm excited to be his cheerleader for these next few years. I LOVE football and I LOVE him.

And as for the title of this blog, that's a John Mayer song name. (Of course. Eye roll, Catyler.) But for me, this time of my life is movin' on from the old, and gettin' over myself and GROWING UP!! Being self-sufficient and paying rent on a home and having a full-time job and all that adult-ness. I miss my family and home and my dog, but I'm trying to get over that too. Everybody has to adult some time.
